Fished the river, land based till about 11.30 friday night, just up from the gateway bridge.
Threw some plastics around for an hour or so , no luck, fished a fillet of slimey mac and landed a small whaler around 60cm ( unsure of the species) .
There was a heap of bait around, more than Ive ever seen before in that area.
So I threw a net over some, got a heap of 90mm poddy mullet and a couple of prawns. I put the mullet and prawn straight back out as livies and used my slimies cubed to get a burley trail going. I was fishing a nice eddy behind some structure and was hoping for some action with all the bait around.
Unfortunately I had to leave before the tide peaked .
Sorry no pics,,, anyway you all know what a whaler looks like.

Its only going to get worse too.
That marina is almost finished, and will be locked up tighter than ....
CCtv, proximity cards , and barbed wire,
There goes one of my favourite spots.
There is a short stretch from the pylon base to the new marina,
access from the Metroplex ave end,,, rocky ,snaggy, nasty, sometimes a good fish come along.
I used to be able to get into the stretch near Visy on Paringa but its all lockde up now
