Hey everyone, took my wife 4 a late night troll in the Tweed the other day. It was a perfect night, warm & fine with just a hint of breeze.
We cast a few lures around the well lit rock walls 4 little results. So we moved away from the light and decided to troll & have a coffee on the way. As always soon as the coffee is poured the rod starts to buck and I'm onto a small flattie. Ok, photo/released & off again, got to finish the coffee this time before Bianca's rod "doubled" over.
Mmmmm looks like it might be a nice one! we motored away from the pontoon she pulled it from & it started to play up. At first I called it for a jack as it didnt have the head shake at first, just a couple of powerfull runs. After about 1min fight it surfaced beside the boat & too my surprise it was a 80cm flattie. A couple of quick pics & she was released unharmed. Well that was hard to beat so we decided to cruise back to the ramp & end the session on a high. Home in bed before midnight & my wife turned into a pumkin, I mean a princess.
Cheers
Toppy
