    Pin trip saturday the 25th.

    gaday all
fished the pin yesterday and was quietly surprized. apart from the rain and the wind.
the fish still played the game.
peter and 1 fished SP's , Peter with Gulps , i tried them for no fish.
then me with zooms and fish happened.
    was also trying 1KG pretest.
the first thing you should do in this case is make shore your reel is up to the task.
    My mistake was here.
i didn't check the reel first even though it was new.
the drag was assembled wrong. giving me no drag adjustment and a self undoeing feature
    no fish on this rod.
pulled out the 4lb and i had a better day/ morning.
the flatties are about at the moment, just like september with bigger girls with their stable of smaller males close by.
peter my decky had 2 fish to the boat before i was even settled in.
bream are around too with mid 30's common.
we kept 3 flatties and 4 bream. my biggest flattie for the morning was 74cm and 3 odd Kg's peter's best a 34cm bream
    Bust offs where common too.
all up we caught about 20 or so flatties and 5 bream and 1 pike.
    then it realy gets ughly

Well done guys. Yes the big flattys are about, I'll second that.

Is it normal for the big ones to come back in again at this time of the year? I wonder why... last of the warm water/equinox? Southerly change? Prawns? Lots of possibilities.

    cheers

a big tide makes a lot of difference.

Reels are all serviced now so i'll have a go again this weekend.

Hi Cloud 9 - nice catch there - am a big fan of the Pin region and going there myself this arfternoon to fish the outgoing into the night. Just a quickie, i am new to SP's and still trying to catch my 1st legal fish however, do u prefer to use 1/0 or 3/0 hooks with your SP's at the Pin? Would greatly appreciate the advice...

    Cheers!
