    Late start, Green & Mud

Wanted to get up early but eyes were glued. Case of five more minutes. Anyway didn't hit water till 7:00am. With reading the reports of success with SP's around green & mud, I through I would give it a go. fished Green first. I had never fished Green before so all was new to me, started fishing the the two cardinal marks north west side in about 6m of water, (for people who know Green and would like to help me, is this a good place to start?) spent about 30 to 40min here things were slow, managed a few hits but nothing aboard. Moved on to Mud eastern side looking to fish some hard ground in about 8m of water, started drifting, southerly wind pushing with a outgoing tide. Things were slow again, was getting hits about every 5th cast. In the end 2 under size squire & a sole fish to my surprise. Fished for 1hr. Spent 30min sounding new ground then heading home to beat the winds. Hoping to get out Saturday morn for another session.

Always reading your reports - found that its helped me with the SP's so thanks to those who are willing to share their knowlege with others. Till next time. Biff

Biff - there is a wide reef on the NE side of Green - generally 3 1/2 - 4m of water - certainly much less than 6m. Try around there. Look for the drop off on the sounder as you go out to see where the edge is. You will know it on Saturday because there will be a bunch of boats around there.

Mud - well I am still learning myself but drifting around will find you a lot of opportunity on all sides. Lots of structure around Mud from the old coral dredging days. Again, if you go on Saturday, you will see where boats congregate.

Ah well, I don't need to go fishing with the crowds on weekends. I am on a long long service leave.

So what are you doing here? You should be out there making us plebs even more jealous and regaling us with tales of your catches.

    It's been what? 2/3 days.

    Lucky, lucky bas***d

    Good luck,
    Mike

Well actually, I was out there today and yesterday but home by midday today. Same spots as earlier in the week but with only minor success - too minor to photograph.

We might call these exploratory trips. As most of the really successful fishos say, to get better at fishing, you need to spend more time on the water. Well I have certainly been doing that but not every trip is successful.

Which is probably just as well as my family are rebelling against eating fish at home. Too much of good thing, I guess.

BTW, it was georgeous day on the Bay today, 5knots, flat seas milder temperature in the air. Paradise!
