    Re: Wello/Green 18th March

Well done guys. Had to work again so i have missed my opportunity again. But what's with these little fish. LOL . Maybe I should get out there just to see if the big ones are still there. I have a few new spots for you guys to try. I will do a bit more research and plotting and let you know. Wyoming, I reckon you are driving over or very close to driving over a very interesting bottom anomalie on your way out to Wello. Lets talk soon.

G,Day Graham, Mate we only take the smaller fish because they taste sweeter than those monsters you have been catching .
Can't wait to try out those new spot x's you found.
    Catch up with you soon.
    Cheers Brent

Great work Aquarius!! How i yearn to catch fish on SP's like that! Only new to them but i don't think i have the right Rod so i'm going to get myself one this week. I think the choice of SP's seems to be specific too so will have to get some more appropriate ones too. And maybe a good coach for a trip or two...

I agree with you and brent also, but the bigger ones are more of a thrill to catch. Nothing beats the site of a 70cm plus snapper lying beside the boat with a piece of plastic hanging out the side of its mouth.

    Good one Brent,
My diary says that is about this time last year that they started turning up in numbers in the shallows around Redcliffe. Hopefully another good season coming up! Next hitch break for me is 3 wks away so will be watching for your reports till then.
A good day like that beats a Gold Coast kick boxing night anytime.
    Cheers, Derek

G,Day Derek, Yes mate its shaping up to be another great snapper season.
With a bit of luck we may get some quality stuff over the 5 kilo mark.
Redcliffe shallows in three weeks you should see that water temp drop and hopefully the big fella's will appear.
Surface temp on Saturday was 26.4 degress.
Was talking to a fellow ausfisher fishing green this morning and he said it was quiet compared to yesterdays feeding frenzy.
Funny how the next day there moods change.
    Cheers Brent

Foggy - 51 cm is like Baby Bear's bed - Just Right.

Suinday's trip was really dissappointing after the joys of Saturday. I went over just about all the patches at Green, Huybers and Wello and got nowhere. Just as the wind was making it uncomfortable, I hooked a monster (at Wello) and got him right up to the boat at which point he decided that his life was in severe danger. One bis thwak while going into the net and he was gone.

Oh well, I'm still glowing with the memory of Saturday...
