Hi All
After being married for nearly 2 years and many comments about 'can't understand what it is that excites u about fishing', i finally talked my lovely wife into a trip on the recently acquired SS Minnow. Now i must tell u that she is from the UK and their idea of fishing is driving down to the supermarket and buying a couple of fillets!
I decided that the best option would be to zip out from fishermans island and fish an hour either side of the high in the Brissie River at 'Territory Z'. Her being 5 months pregnant probably doesn't allow us the luxury of anything longer. So with only one thing in mind, and that was to get her hooked on a fish, we set out from the ramp at 5.30am (this was an effort in itself).
After several drifts, i am a face of concentration while she's on the phone to her sister in France when 'bang', shes on! After some quick flying tips while bringing the fish in, we netted a 38cm Squire! Well, i was as ecstatic as catching my first fish on a SP! We continued on and she scored another 2 squire while the only hit i managed on my SP was when she was holding my rod while i was putting a new SP on her rod!!! Unbelievable! Any way, we headed back at the planned time and i was decidedly satisfied that i had accomplished my mission. Over breakfast, she says 'oh, i can really see the attraction to fishing...' Hmmmm
Take Care T
PS: The Gulp Minnow 3" in Pumpkinseed was the SP in question - they didn't want to know about my Gulp Watermelon.
