    brissie river

A freind and i decided to have a go night fishing on brissie river. we hooked up bream as live bait. We were hoping for a bull shark but ended up with this thing. He had a good time bringing it in. It measured 1.20m. Unfortunatley we didn't get a chance to wieght it (couldn't figure out how to do it - without killing it).

I was wondering whether it was a hairtail when I saw the pic as well Brenno, something just didn't look right, but I downloaded the pic and had a pretty close look and am about 90% convinced now it is a pike eel.

Yeah, pike eel for sure and top shark bait.........watch yer feet when they drop into the boat.......had one latch onto my jogger once. Reckon I broke the Guiness book of records for jogger removing the jogger remained in his jaw for two hrs until we killed the bugger...they just won't let go! Another one dropped into my cast net and the net ended up being a write off...real nasty piece of work them buggers
