    burrum heads

just got back from two weeks at burrum heads the fishing was great in the first week but slowed down after easter the first week there was heaps of pelagic action just off the boat ramps. we caught plenty of school mackerel there were plenty of under size schoolies there but if you persisted there were some good sized schoolies and broad barred spanish thrown in as well. we found the best way to catch them was trolling mad mullets as fast as you could. there were also some reasonable mack tuna and bonito. I also caught two 10kg longtails. The second week saw the pelagics all but dissapear apart from a few broad bars and small schoolies in scattered patches. I also caught a nice spaniard off the boat ramp on a live herring.I decided to chase flatties the rest of the week there were heaps of flatties about with prawnstars and live herring being the best two flathead were well over the legal size so they were released a couple were just under and quite a few 40cm to 50cm ihave got some photos which i will post soon.

sounds like a great couple of weeks. Spanish off the boat ramp would be memorable!
