What a busy morning on the logan river - I think there were more boats on the water then there were fish in it!
I have never seen so many boats on the Logan and this combined with the wind made the going pretty tough. Just when a spot would settle down another flock of boats would fly by sending wash my way.
There also seemed to be an awful lot of people cast netting for prawns, not sure how they were doing tho.
Despite all the distractions I still managed 3 bream for the morning session which was ok. Best going 30cm. All were released to fight another day.
yeah there were a few boats out enjoying the sunshine, we put in at the ski park with only three other tailers at 5am nice and crisp 13 degrees had a pleasant morning tho the incoming tide wrecked a few dillies - no muddies to show for the day either- thats it for the season now I guess
we landed a bream 22cm so went back to grow some more a couple of flounder nice size for the pan an estuary rock cod which went back to grow and a shovel nose which put up a good fight and close to the boat we thought we had a nice flattie but alas.
back to land about 11am and the car park at the boat ramp was full
all in all a pleasant morning on the river a few more cooler nights and we should see some more bream
Sounds like it was pretty busy everywhere today. The river shuts down pretty good with lots of boat traffic. Hopefully the fishing will be better, hoping to head there on friday morning.
Yeh boat traffic can be very frustrating! especially wen your not catching anything
I suppose its a public holiday so there bound to be heaps of people on the water.
Nice work with the bream there, wat did u get em on?
Cheers
