Gidday everybody,
With the SE change dropping temperatures at last, thoughts turn to catching squid. Does anybody know if they are about yet? Any reports from jetties?
Good fishin,
Mike

got 6 or 7 from the bribie island jetty last week, and saw about 50 more. only saw them on the start of each tide.
Thanks for the replies guys, I might give it a go next weekend. If I do, I will let you know how I get on.
Tight lines and screaming reels,

I spent this morning fishing along the reefs from Raby Bay to Wello, trying squid jigs at every spot - no squid there that I could find! Does anyone have any reports of squid elsewhere?
Mike
PS I got a legal parrot, a sole and lots of undersize squire and sweetlip.
there were plenty of squid behind the wreck at peel. at high tide drift along the rocks all the way to the mangroves.
Just strays here and there, no size and no numbers that I have seen land based. A few tell tale signs on some of the jetties of the odd catch but not the mess that would be there if they were about in numbers. Still early days yet.
We got enough bait yesterday afternoon, trolling through the weed beds before the barge drop-off at straddie.
Spots on Dreamdays, we caught some nice squid during the day off the weed beds in rainbow, plus there were a lot of pike about.
