    Cairns Longtails

Went out from Yorkeys Knob this morning on a solo mission. Bit too much wind to go to the reef so had a look around Double Island. Found a few schools of Longtails feeding between Double Island and the wreck. The schools were only fairly small and a bit skittish but were mainly solid fish around 10kg. Caught two on slugs (which had me stuffed) and one trolling a soft pusher. Had a look out at the wreck but couldn't get the anchor to hold in the wind.

    cheers,

    steve

Steve, thats a solid effort. I would have liked to join you but I was on the road Fri-Sat (T'ville road trip). To land 3 longtails that big alone is good work. I saw some longtails not far off that size busting up in small pods on some isolated occasions during yesterday's trip but they were very flighty. Some of the mack tuna yesterday were reasonably big aswell (up to 6kg). I reckon we'll have to convert these tuna into some reds.
