On the water in the Broadwater
up at 3am to go and pick up my mate and HIS boat we have a very good friendship he has a 4.5m tinnie and a Clubsport with NO tow hitch, I however have a Jeep Cherokee Sport WITH tow hitch but no boat
Put the tin in at the Nerang river boat ramp and headed out to the seaway tucked between the two green markers at sth straddie and anchored up for the low tide, not much happening then bang rod bent over, much hilarity over my fishing prowess (havent had much luck of late) eal tailed catfish boated and released.
A few casts later and boat owner is boasting he is onto his first bream/squire of the day HA catfish again
Myself however is on again and its heavier than before couple of nice runs and (yes they are telling me its just a bigger catfish) but no only my second ever double hook up and its a bream and a cod, in the boat, bream in the esky and cod back with the fishes
Went to get some bait for the hooks and for us, drooled over some nice rods and decided to pump for yabbies on the sand bars about the middle of wave break island and had a cast from the banks first cast and on a slow retrieve (with fresh yabbie) and the flattie following my bait hadnt struck by the time it saw me and it was gone, second cast and bang my first ever flathead big smiles for me two in the esky. mates got onto a whiting in the same spot and from the boat my other mate lost a sting ray (nose to tail must have been 1.5m)
Back around to the seaway and out near the rocks at straddie the bream were on the chew but only the one boated just on 23.5 cms and that was it for the day tried the sand bars again on the ride home and a few casts under the Nerang river bridge boat on the trailer about 4ish so all in all on the water all day for the four keepers saw the bream spot that was talked about in another post so when boatless will know where to go.
The smallest bream was 23.5 so gauge the sizes of the others but the missus is cooking up a storm now as I post this.
A great day the weather was bloody warm but a bit blowy in the afternoon my first flattie and Bream keeper made my day and the cod was a nice change too I have already caught a squire so I am slowly ticking off the fishes, they look great and taste that way too.
Cheers
Tight lines my friends.

Nice to see mate, congratulations.
Theres some posts on fixing up your pickies in the help section as I figure you have been trying to get the size down.
