best tides for boat based fishing in estuarys

Can any one help with what are the best tides for fishing estuaries in a boat or dosnt it matter. After years of being restricted to land based fishing I've got used to fishing around the high tides. Now I'm one of the boat people I spose id better learn how to fish properly.
Is the tide so important when fishing estuarys in a boat?

PS: I will mostly be experimenting with soft plastics if this makes any differnce.

    Thanks Pritch.

Mate - there are some golden rules ...... fish the top or bottom of the tide when they coincide with dawn or dusk and you should be right. Pick your location wisely.

If you're anything like me the best tides are the ones that coincide with when you are allowed to go fishing......
