    Bribie sunday

Hi im only new to this so please bear with me
Hit the surf side early on sunday morning , flat as a tack and the schools were boiling
My mate and I threw slugs into a boil just near 3rd, he hooked tuna I hooked a bonito. As i released mine and cast again
we looked down the beach to see a twin hulled boat bearing down on us that was maybe 20 to 30 metres off shore. With my mate having 100m of line out we started waving and yelling at him to move out to sea, when he got in line with me he turned in towards the shore ran over my line and cut it losing my lure gave me the finger turned back north and continued up the beach > >
A least the mate landed the fish (just a small mack tuna) but in the emotion of it all we did not get a reg no. ,oh well.
We caught a few more bonito later but no more tuna.
Not wanting to sound rude but it can be hard chasing fish from the beach without having to dodge boat props
Why work? Because no one will pay me to fish ...Yet...

bad luck mate ,thats one reason they invented snappersinkers for they very accurate .on the other note they were probably just following a school in to the surf ,still no justification for the finger salute ,have a laugh at him next time and in that instant you'll win and he' ll be the one that be pissed off
    cheers

    Re: Bribie sunday

G'day Bates - Thanks for the report. Thinking about heading up there this weekend. Do you know whether the netting has started along Bribie surfside as yet? Also, when you saw a 'boil', do you mean you saw the baitfish jumping coz the predetors were after them?

    Thanks

    Welcome aboard - Bates

Absorbing report and forget the cowboys on twin hulls.
Keep post report if you catch or nothing at Bribie next time, Bribie is much closer to Northside where I live and hope go there near future.

    Thanks

    Re: Bribie sunday

HBK when i say 'boil' yes the water looks just like water boiling in a pot... due to the bait fish hitting the water surface with the predetors right behind.
You can see the tuna actually jump out and this causes your adrenalin to start pumping.
A good sign to look for is the birds hitting the water at the same time, or if they are circling a spot waiting for the fish to surface..

Nabs you need a 4x4 (with Permit) to get to where we were (mines the red one i photo)

About time you got off your butt and posted something Shayne, I know you fish up there regularly so we should probably be expecting alot more updates on the Bribie ocean beach scene.
