First legal fish on SP's

Greetings,

Headed down the goldy today for a fish with my parents. First stop was to get some yabbies for the parents and then to start fishing. Arrived at our first spot and fished for a while only for a couple of touches on the SP's and two small bream to my mother on yabbies.

On to another spot for absolutally Nothing on the yabbies or SP's. #. Didn't stay there long, and we then when back to the spot where we pumped the yabbies. #First few casts I was getting a few touches, then all of a sudden WHAM, then a couple minutes later i had my first bream on SP and legal size. (my first leagal fish on SP's).

Continued flicking around for about an hour, and WHAM I'm On again and pull in a 51cm Flattie. #
Those two fish my, day even my week. # . At the end of the day those two fish are all we ended up with, but I was over the moon, I outfished my parents by fishing with SP's. ( My parents managed a few more small bream on the yabbies but nothing legal)

Sorry no pics, the digi's batteries were flat, and my weapon of choice was a 3" power minnow in pumpkinseed. All was done landbased along the coomera river.

Feels great when you finally catch that fish on SPs especially after you've been trying for a while.
Must feel great aye, and you outfished bait so thats just shows how good the SPs are

Good on ya Craigus. I too have just caught my first legal on SP. Just thought I'd try out the new outfit (Penn Enforcer 555SA2 and Gold UglyStick), brought it to start trying SP's and would you believe it, first cast, jig, jig "bang" 43cm Flatty. I'm thinking this is just all too easy .

I hope this kind of luck holds on my trip to the Cape in August.
