Winter Whiting Wednesday 10th May

I went out today for a couple of hours and caught about 30 winter whiting off Maroom Banks, then came home. I used squid strips for bait. #
There were a few other old blokes out there with me in the same area, so it looks like the winter run of whiting is about started. #
What a beautiful day to be on the water, absolutely flat calm with a very slight breeze to drift the boat along.
I don't usually fish weekends... that's the advantage of being retired... but I hope the weather stays good and you guys can get out there and get a few for yourselves. They were in comparatively shallow water today.

i have been getting whiting all year on the banks, just a tip, if they seem hard to locate try some berkley soft plastic worms, once you are on to a patch, go back to squid
