    SQUIDDY!!

Went down the harbour this morning to throw a few plastics and some poppers around. Not much on the plastics but nailed a few Tailors and pike.
Noticed a few squid cruising in close and finally decided to whack on the jig. 2nd cast saw me land one out in the deeper water withanother one soon following. Dropped 1 more in close and they went off after this. Sun was up too high maybe??
Anyway, the mrs was stoked she had a nice feed for lunch.
    Pics enclosed. Cheers.

PS: White_Steenbras where were you mate?? We should have been throwing those jigs out together.

    Well done rich.
sounds like a good session with some fun with the pike and tailor, and a tasty lunch.
All those squid need is a bit of salt and pepper and on the BBQ.
That is also a good size squid. What size and colour jig did you get it on? (you have inspired me to try and catch some)

    Re: SQUIDDY!!

Craigus, mate I got em on rainbow coloured surecatch prawn jig. Weighted with 2.5 This I found to be slightly heavy but it still did the job. I'd suggest picking up one of the JW razorbacks. The ones I dropped would have been caught if I had the razorback jig on.
Got one this arvo (in Green) so I can give it a hit tomorrow. Good luck mate and thanx for the feedback.

PS: I'v heard pink and green are the two most productive colours....

    Re: SQUIDDY!!

On funniest home videos last night, they had a new squid jig.

A Weimeranner (sorry about spelling) dog caught a beaut squid in water that seemed to be less than a foot deep. Squid was alive and squirting when muttley brought it ashore.

I know the feeling. Copped a squirt myself the other day. Thought it had discharged already. It had a little in reserve tho didn't it. Jet washed me when I was holding it. Luckily only a little ink left. >
Hot tip: Always handle squid with loaded end pointing away from you.
