dodged the traffic yesterday morning round the scarby reefs throwing 5" gulps (jerkbait) on 4lb fireline (10lb leader) on top of the new pinpoint tournament 3-5kg rod (sweet as to cast long distances) . was a little quiet with only a few smaller fish boated out in the 23feet range , best going 38cm , so we moved in closer (12-15 ft) and it wasn't long before i got hit by a nice fish . line was dissapearing fast so i said to paul "we might have to chase this bugga" just then luck went my way and i managed to turn the thing around and get some line back on the spool , so i settled things down a bit and had the fish to the net in a couple minutes. by no means a monster but i still shake with nerves every time i hook into a fish in the shallow reefy water out off redcliffe , i don't think we appreciate what a great fishery we have so close to heart of brissy some times , nearly every morning there is a spectactular sunrise over moreton and turtles and dolphins swimming round so close to shore also you have the opportunity to catch some top class fish in my case only 1000 meters from my front door .
HOW GOOD IT IS
