Your comment here sounds a little strong. Just remember, the guy drifting could say " I wish those guys anchored up would not anchor right in the middle of my drift pattern." That happened to me at Green, but I don't think it deserves any choice words spoken. So what's wrong and what's right? Respect for your fellow Fisho is what's right, no matter if you drift or you anchor.
Good catch by the way, I am sure the whole crew had a good day by the looks.

great work mate that is a good sized fish you have there
Great catch the fellas. and great report too.
That is a beut of a fish for Snorky.
I wonder if Snorky will want to go fishing with you again?
Craig
How close is too close? I was helping snork as was cheech when he had the hook up on the snapper and after the first 2 runs he had a lot of line out, and it was high in the water, this boat came thru nearly cutting snorks line , he had to drop the rod tip to be safe , now that’s a little close I think. More to the point I don’t know if anyone was catching fish but after about a 6th on board the boats where in over and on top of us with so much noise and stuffing around we where lucky to keep the fish on the bite.
I know no one owns the ocean, but it’s a bit of courtesy, there was a lot of boats out, some anchored and stayed at anchor, there was one lot fishing plastics that could not resist to come into our drift line , ok, and they got a fish they left soon after, the guys in the tiller steer sea jay, what the? ½ dozen loops around and anchored back where they started???
Any way that’s what you get on a weekend, most boaties are aware, as are we, but some times you got to get a little close, it’s the stuffing around of anchors and motors that gets me. I don’t know about you guys but I prefer to be away from other boats, noise does travel on the water and even if you have to comprise your spot by some meters and you get some fish you can normally keep it to your selves without every one in ear shot pulling the anchor to move 15m closer…you know what I mean.
Thanks for the comments, let’s all be happy, don’t worry and go fishing.
Top report
Go mighty Broncos
Go Wallabies
top work mate not a bad haul
Gidday Chong,
Darned annoying I have to agree. I still get annoyed when my deckies do things like drop sinkers into the bottom of the boat( finnished up carpeting it so it's no longer a problem), so yes, I agree, doing loops around like that can put the fishing off.
Anyhow, you guys really know how to fish, it must be so tempting to call in a sick day so you can get away from the crowds and fish in the middle of the week so these things don't happen. But hey, you nearly bagged out anyways??

Top catch Great report, thats Garden Island in the back ground right
Top report Chong. Laughing the whole way when I was reading. Sounds likw times I had with my mates when we wer still at school. God I miss those days. Top report and top feed.
Bring on Winter.

if you boys don't mind, which island is that, that is in the back ground, green or mud??
Scalem, you must not have properly read what I have written. I clearly said that I have no problem with people drifting through, and that my issue was with them motoring straight back through the anchoured boats "where everyone is fishing". Re-read my post and you will find that most of what you have written is in response to something I did not say.
F4L, that is Mud Island at the eastern carpark.

Yeah nice work Cheech, have been hassling shaun to get out with us one night so you can show me how its done. Went out last thurday morning using pillies and squid with not even a sniff of squire on the boat - still had a good time at least. Well done.
Top fish boys, thats a beauty. Are you selling seats on the next charter?
cheers
Andrew
My appologies Cheech, I see your point now. Motoring too close to anchored boats is illegal let alone annoying to someone with a line in the waterOriginally Posted by Cheech
