After a non-eventful mission out with fellow Ausfisher T1 on friday night at the Brisbane river chasing those King salmon (Sorry T1 no Salmon for you this week ) decided to go have some fun with the family for some winter whiting. It was my sons first winter whiting trip so he had alot to learn but it didn't take him to long to get the hang of it. I was catching them and he was throwing all the small ones back. At one stage he was even throwing the big ones back little rat got his hands in the esky and before you know it bye bye fishy anyhow he had fun so that is all that matters.
Ended up catching 40 nice whiting and the family had a nice time.
I also tried those 5" berkley gulp shads in watermelon for some flathead no luck they got smashed as soon as they hit the water. Pulled my line in no plastic left just a litle around the hook. Try another the same result try a different plastic same I finally worked out that it was tailor smashing the plastic. Didn't mange to catch any will take some gang hooks and pillies next time.
Until next mission happy reading
