Redcliffe reds - quicktime bag out

Launched at Clontarf at 6am Thursday, intending to try for a few bream live-baiting in the Pine. Thought I might have a quick try outside the Woody Point reefs to see if there were any tailor about. Put a couple of unweighted gar out and picked up a small snapper (36cm - released) in just a few minutes. This was followed by another (37cm also released) not long after. Then things really started to hot up. Within the next hour I boated another five reds 39cm, 50cm, 52cm, 53cm and 62cm, plus one tailor. By 8 o'clock it was all over but it had been a great little session.
Went back again this morning to see if they were still around. Did not get a single take from a snapper or tailor. Managed half a dozen bream and a flathead.

Yes ROb, both the gar and a few old pillies were successful

Fairly shallow Brandon. I was in about 4 metres of water but reasonably close in to the reefs. I'm a bit like you - I've caught a lot of undersize reds there recently usually only managing a couple of legal ones. This was the best run of quality fish I've ever had in this location

Nice catch. I tried Scarborough this morning for a couple but it was pretty quiet.
