Howdy Ausfishers & Guests, Jim, Steven & I had a top day chasing squire in the western bay with Wello our first drift at daylight.
Steven almost got spooled on his first cast before the leader was cut at the jighead.
Suspect snapper probably swollowed the lot and 8 lb leader is light but thats the risk you take to get hits.
We had a hot session for an hour or so before they shut down so the call was made to move around to try and find a more productive site.
Nothing doing at Wello before the mornings high so off the peel for the run out.
It wasn't long before we had double hook ups on good fish all around the 40cm mark.
Biggest came in at 43cms.
Nearly every cast we hooked up and when we had reached our target of 12 fish we threw another 12 legal back to fight another day.
Its been a very Quiet last few weeks out on the bay so today our luck changed for the better.
Only encountered about half a dozen boats all day so was great to have the bay to ourselves.
1 weeks holiday for me and my mates so what a start on the first day.
Just hope we can repeat these sessions for the rest of my time off work.
Zoom baby bass, watermellon seed did the damage today.
I also got out my 2 kilo gear for some fun and was not dissapointed.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 1 kilo drag and a 2-3 kilo procaster is the ultimate experience when fishing the plastics.
Bring on tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers Brent
