what a fantastic attitude charleville. I have been reading your reports and would just like to say that you are a true gentleman. Being a top fisho is more than just catching a pile of fish, it is the attitude that goes with it. As far as Im concerned you are a TOP FISHO, and a gentleman to go with it.

What a lovely story! #You have such a way with words and it does make your posts a pleasure to read!

I think that you are the "best" type of fisherman

    • happy with what you catch on the night (as long as it is something, even undersize and release, just as long as there is action )

    • more than happy to admit that you "don't know everything!"

    • keen to learn and listen to other people's advice

    • patient and
    #
    • modest

I am waiting for a good day to try out my new gear and the boat in the bay and, in the meantime, #have been terrorising the local tackle shops in an effort to gain as much knowledge as possible before going out! #I have only fished the Pumicestone Passage at Caloundra before but never out in the bay. # #

So any advice from a "seasoned" bay fisherman, like yourself, would be greatly appreciated!

Aw shucks, gbanger, Herm, Got_the_Fever and others. #Ya gonna make me blush! #

Thanks for the sentiments though. #I appreciate them a lot. #

I just have the perspective that rather than write a straight report saying that I went to such-and-such a place and caught such-and-such, I would write up something that adds a bit more depth and colour to the experience based on what I observe or what happens at the time.

All of my stories are true but I enjoy seeing the fun side in the experiences and see no harm in sharing them.

Janine - thanks for the vote of confidence. #I am not good enough to give advice other than to say that there is much to be learnt from the posts of people like Webby on this site on bait fishing and Aquarius on soft plastics (and many others also - don't beat me up boys and girls # ) ...and oh yes, I should mention sites like Nugget's where I have learnt a lot.

Also, some great articles to be found in Bush and Beach magazine. #Also those fishing lectures that they have at the various boat shows, Tackle & Tinnie show etc are worth every cent of the admission price. #These days, they even have them in venues with comfortable seats - unlike the benches that we used to have to sit on at the RNA showground a couple of years ago. #

Generally, you will find some good spots in the bay by seeing where most of the boats are parked out there on a weekend and if in doubt just try drifting with a bait on a hook with a light sinker. # #Sunrise, sunset andfishing at the turn of the tide will help.

Really though, my experience is of sample size of one and there is much to be learnt from lots of others by asking virtually any question on this site.

Fantastic fish mate, if you keep this up ( fishing ever nice night) you are going to struggle when the long service leave finishes.
