Hit the pin just after sunrise this morning, was great weather for about an hour, then the predicted winds and rain came in, we moved back amongst the islands, and had a predominately calm day of decent fishing. It was only my mate and I's second time time fishing this area and we had a ball. Although we didn't get onto any tailor like the last time we were down that way, we still brought home a good feed. I caught a PB bream and was quite stoked with it, it wasn't huge, but at ~39cm and 990g it was a decent bream and one which I am certainly happy with
You can see in the pic the size of it compared to the other fish (smallest bream 25cm). Also notice that it looks like something has had a go of the big bream, it was still bleeding when I got it up, so I think it must have happened just before I caught it. End result was 4 bream, a tarwhine, flathead, and a whiting. Threw back at least 10 bream, some whiting, a flounder and a catfish. We don't go fishing very often so that's why we keep most of what we catch (ie. the 25cm bream)...incase anyone was wondering
When i looked at the pic i was going to ask whats wrong with its tail? Maybe it was a big jewie mate! Should've sent him back down with a bit of jewlery Top bream mate well done.
Hey, great mixed bag there. Definately would be stoked with that breambo. Were baits or Sp's used mate. I'm still to land a bream on SP's.
What am I doing wrong??? Well done and enjoy!!
Thanks fellas, yeah I was stoked. Forgot to say that all fish were caught on bait, fresh(ish) prawns and squid. All the spots we caught fish, I tried flicking plastics around, and got nothing, even the old faithful 3" pumpinkseek grub didn't get touched, so today it was bait they were after, cheers.
Lol, yes Chris it is, my mate's a mechanic, and had all these dash mats etc he was throwing out, it was the first thing we could find to place the fish on for a photo when we took them out the esky, cheers.
