Met up a with a few other Ausfish members saturday morning at Wello boat ramp at 6am. Hoping for our first fishing trip in a while that we don't get drenched. Weather seems good, the challenge is on.
Boat One- Lanks and ON-THE-CHEW (Odds on favourites)
Boat Two- Tremble, Kwijibo(Lanks' dad and brother) and Leanne(Kwijibo's wife).
We headed out to a few favourite spots just off wello, even giving Boat 2 the GPS marks so all was even.
It was a good morning of fishing, most important the rain stayed away only a few occasions it was spitting for a while. It was hard fishing for most of the morning, fish where few and far between with a fair amount of little stuff. Plastics which had most success was 3inch Baby Bass zoom, 4inch Pumpkinseed wiggle tail gulp and 4inch watermelon powerbait all on 1/8th jig heads.
Boat One opened our account first and never looked back. Tally for the Day:
Boat One:
Lanks: Four legal squire 38 to 48cms.
ON-THE-CHEW: Four legal squire 38 to 50cms and one parrot 36cms(PB)
Boat Two:
Tremble: Three legal squire all 36cms.
Leanne: Two legal squire 39 and 40cms.(PB) (First time Leanne had ever used Plastics)
Kwijibo: A big fat nothing, zero, nil.
So once again Boat one, Lanks and ON-THE-CHEW, are champs(until next time).
Most fish went back to get bigger for next time here is a picky of a few we kept.
Good onya Guys and Gals...........Nothing better than being out at Wello with friends and catching a few squire as a bonus.
