First report from a little way up North

    Hello all,
Chong's Northern Adventures here ….. Well decided that week 3 in the new town is long enough and as school holidays had started and the other half has a visitor for a few days (girl mate ) a noted that on there second bottle of white and with all kids asleep a small window opened …and I jumped thru it….

I had pre-empted this opportunity so on the way home I got some secrete bait , same as we used to use at mud Is for the bream (cheech and snorky know the stuff), so after dinner I zapped down to the ramp at Maroom, about 20 min drive, for the making tide. Nice little spot, sandy beach, coffee rock bottom, lots clean water from the sandy straights, mangroves etc. Used the same basic as if I was at Mud, fished light and quite.

Didn’t take long for some activity to start, after about 10 minutes I had my first legal fish, nice bream just shy of the 30cm mark. I continued on, no one else to be seen for about 6000 miles expect for the 2 dudes that came in on their punt , had a chat, one of them drives 130km to go fishing in a punt for 6 hrs with his mate , got love the country towns , any way they didn’t to good on the fishing side, so after I hooked up again while they where loading up their gear there was lots of banter about just fishing at the ramp and …… had a good laugh and they were off, nice guys.
So over all probably caught about 8 bream from 20 to 30 cm, only kept a couple of the larger ones for a taste because I haven’t had a fresh fish for about 4 weeks, as it happened Mrs Chong and her mate ate the lot #so didn’t even get a taste , oh well just have to go again on the weekend…. .only got the one pic as the flash didn’t go off on the others.
    Cheers,
    Chong
