Heading up to Newcastle this weekend for some land based fishing... If anyone knows any hot spots, it would be much appreciated?

hey, there is lake around there my aunty lives near it but im sooo sorry i forgot what its called but there is good land base fishing there good luck

I believe the Lake is Lake Macquarie, but unfortunately I can't help any further.
I'm sure that either a search on the net would uncover valuable info or there are sure to be some members on this site from around that area.

stockton breakwall is a great spot to fish just over on the north side of the river,jewies,bream,all sorts

There's alot of big bream get caught around that area. There's also some stonker Jewies as well. I just read an article the other week in a magazine about chasing Jewies there... "Steel City Jews" I think it was called. Not sure what mag, but it was one of the glossy coloured ones (Fishing World or Fishing Monthly)
