A few more Tailor
I was planning to put the boat in and toss a few plastics around Redcliffe when I got asked if I wanted to play deckie for Shane (robersl). Rising tide with a good bit of run, moon near full and great weather, it doesn't get much better. With all the success, Shane's had lately with the tailor, I figured it might be good for this learner fisho to spend some time with the master and see how it was done.
We needed bait and nothing is better than fresh pike. Off to spot number 7 where the master shows young grasshopper that none of these newfangled fishing toys work half as well as a piece of wool. I think I managed one for every three that Shane brought in.
Off to Mud, where pike were loaded and the trolling started. First fish went to me and Shane quickly followed with another. Two more followed with a few managing to shake the hook, mostly mine. Then it turned quiet.
The tailor seemed to have left, so we went over to the parking lot and spent some time watching the sun set while trying for squire. That was as about exciting as it got there. We tried everything including me resorting back to the dark side and flinging every SP known to man around. Shane managed a few pickers and I had one big take on a large green snapback.
After a while, nothing continued to happed, so we called it quits and were back at the ramp by 7pm with four tailor, the biggest going 47cm. No photos sorry.
Thanks for a great afternoon Shane. Grasshopper learned much. [smiley=scholar.gif]

Sunny,
How does wool catch pike? Do you tie it to a hook and then cast and retrieve, or jig it up and down? Fresh free bait sound good to me .

to answer that dory you get 3 pieces of coloured wool like white red orange lay the strands along side each other pick them up and tie a knot and pull tighht every cm or so then cut each just above the knot then sear the knot with a candle then put the hook through the middle of the knot and drop it to the bottom then jig it up and down until wham you have pike
