    Tuesday 18-07-06 Beach session

Headed to the beach Tuesday afternoon and had a great little session on the bream.
There were three others fishing the beach and not one of them caught a fish.Interestingly all were using pippies and not catching fish....
The bream seem to love fresh flesh baits though..

Well done, thats a nice catch of bream, but it must annoy the others watching you pulling them in and there not getting a bite. Bob.

    Heya Petenoosa

There are some good quality bream in that lot. The big one in the middle and the one to its left look like they have an absolute gut full the way their bellies are extended. Do you bleed your bream or were they swallowing the hook? Are they bite marks on the very left hand fish?

Yeah I bleed all my fish straight away.....The bream off the beach are up there with the best eating fish. They taste completely different to those in estuaries and rivers.
The ones off the beach have super clean flesh and taste sweet.....Any sort I fish flesh I find is good....But tuna flesh is hard to beat.

PETE, i agree - beach Bream do taste much better and i think it's probably because the water is cleaner than in the estuaries where water can remain stagnant for longer periods! It's also good fun catching Bream in the surf...

    Nice catch too!!
