The Murray is one of my favourite creeks , although it's a bit far from Townsville for a day trip unfortunately. Caught plenty of barra there over the years, seen plenty of crocs and even the resident cassowary on the southern bank. I'll have to get back there soon. Can you still launch a boat from the feeder creek on the northern side ?

    Yes Tossa,

Great place, a bit frightening when you see one of those mobile handbags. You can launch from the southern bank, turn off at bilyana, about 7km to the so called "ramp". Be careful, deep water straight off the end of the "ramp" and very slippery.

    Have fun Haji-Baba.

Yeh Tossa you can still come in that way,you turn down Rockingham rd at Euramo.Saw 3 mud geckos yesterday and they had a croc trap set up right at the boat ramp.

They were what i call an inky bream, they look like a pikey but they turn black.

I think I was fishing that area at christmas while visiting the " outlaws" at Tully

Is that near where they call it the gins camp or brents (I think that s the name ) lagoon

I got myself a little Barra and a few Tarpon, bloke at the tackle shop in Tully said that there was a croc sighting the day I was there.

    That's a bit of a worry
