Hi All
Now, before we go any further, please don't ask for the coordinates to our spots.... As i can see you will all rush out for a slice of the HOT action that exists!!
Ole buddy SMERDO and I left Redland BAy at 6.30am in a last trip before he starts uni again this week. We motored out to Browns Bay/Giants Grave where we found some nice bottom and anchored up. Within minutes wwwhhhhhsssshhhhhWWWWSSSSSHHHH and we were being pi%#ed on from great heights! This lasted for an hour and a half with minimal respite. SMERDO comes out with a pearler midway through the torrent - 'Hey T, you know what we look like? A pair of Penguins on an Iceberg!' It really wasn't funny but it was because here's the 2 of us justing standing stiff like penguins hoping it would go away - we really couldn't do much else! Nonetheless, we battled on for not a lot of fish before deciding mid morning that this was a waste of time and we'd head up the Logan for some respite from the wind.
Next stop Marks Rocks where it was as windy but not as much chop so we persisted there for a few hours before deciding to head back to allow enough time to clean up and head to the Lions match (great win by the kids by the way and Aker can go and freeze his a#s off in Melb - i'm told geese like cold weather!).
The total catch for the day was a Shovelie, a Squid, a Whiting, a Sole and a Bream all of which were returned bar the Squid (for the next Snapps session). And just to kick it in the guts further, the Sounder appears to have drowned itself in the downpour... All of which limited our options after the first 2 hours out.
Still a good day out with SMERDO and not a lot of fish caught but that happens!!
Take Care T
PS: Does anyone know someone that can repair Sounders? Advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated (with GPS points for our spots above)...
