Mud island report wed 26 jul-
A heads up on todays trip- with the upcoming Mud Island challenge on the weekend-grabbed an opportunity to venture out to Mud Island this a.m-bit of a combo sp- bait trip(bait- squid/pike) left from Shorncliffe 530 am- started fishing the north end- first couple of cast produced a cod -u/s squire- berekly turtle back worm p/seed-1/8 jig- thought this is OK-heaps of pike around- I thought I d try the east side for awhile-hadnt been down that area much. Probably a bad decision on my behalf- moving away from the bait- as the morning progressed it went down hill-
Thought I might get a change with the top of the tide but no real luck- t- east side - there were a few birds scattered and a few boats but did nt see any brought in but am guessing the action was over by the time I got there- ? tailor- bit lumpy around the east side -
Finished up back around to the north- saw good sign on the sounder- around 7/8 m mark and a few hits but nothing dramatic-
All up -some undersize grassies/squire up to 30 ish cm/cod- heaps of pike and some good readings on the sounder - back to the ramp 1230 ish-
good luck guys for the weekend - may the fish god be kind
cheers

Lew,
Half your luck being out there...I had a shitty day at work.
Yep looks like you learned your lesson and wont venture too far from the bait next time.
Cheers
