I'm a Townsville based member, but I don't get out to fish very much due to work commitments.

DAMN WORK....ALWAYS GETTING IN THE ROAD OF FISHING
It certainly does when you work in construction, and when you do have days off, its either blowing its arse off or there is no one else free to do a decent trip.
Landbased in Townsville. Fish at least twice a week just to keep my sanity.
Nice to meet you

I'm a Townsville based fisho. I flicked some lures around the breakwater and picked up a stinking 130cm barracuda. Great fun but a big dissapointment. Going up to Hinchinbrook on saturday for a flick. Usually spend time luring around local creeks down to the haughton etc. Mate has a reef boat so I head out to the reef when the weather is OK. Last reip about a month ago and picked up quite a few trout and sweetlip etc.
You gotta love townsville................
The Barracuda seem to be in numbers around the breakwater.
Not all that bad eating...................there are worse
Yeah i hear you dicko1980, it kills me when i have to work weekends and it is smicko weather.
I haven't got my self a boat yet but a few more weekends spent working should help.
Spend prob 60% spearfishing 40% fishing.
Anyways the weather looks like dropping from the average 20knots to a half decent 10-15knots tommorrow so have fun out there!!
I'm from AYR which most of you townsville people know is 1 hour south of townsville
Yeah, I'm another T'ville fisho. Spent a couple of hours at the Haughton yesterday for a couple of good bream ( 33 cms ) and two reasonable cod ( all released ). Saw a big croc on the bank at Burrumbush that looked to be dead ( about 500 mts downstream from the pipeline, which by the way has risen to the surface on the southern bank , so beware boaties ). Back to the croc, it had a nice looking fluoro lure pinned just behind it's back leg but although my mate reckoned it was dead he wouldn't jump out on the bank to grab it. Can't really blame him though. It must have been 14ft long, impressive looking animal.
That croc in Burrumbush is usually on the bank just up from the pipeline. About a month ago I saw it dive into the water as we were going passed and I can assure you it wasn't dead then!!!!! I nearly shat myself..........
I went to Hinchinbrook yesterday and saw a good sized croc lazing in the bank in Bluff creek. We paicked up a couple of small cod on lures but nothing else. Excellent day on the water and worth the drive up from T'vill.
Cheers.
