Hi guy's an gal's, just got home from the rainbow comp and an awesome 2 weeks fishing.
caught great fish all week long, plenty of bream whiting tarwhine dart were around, i diidnt get to target tailor this year but they were there. never saw a whighting under the 500g mark for the entire comp, but couldnt get one big enough to beat the overall of 595g, bream and tarwhine were thick also but all in the 1 kg range and hard to find over that. biggest bream went about 1.3 kg for the week.
the best fishing came 2 days after the rainbow comp. On the monday the fish was unbeliavble on the beach even with the netters cruising up and down. We caught 6 whiting in the 700g plus range one going 772g which was 45cm long and was the largest whiting caught on the beach in 6 years. this netted me $555.00 on the tewantin ferry fishing comp jackpot for beating the current weight of 769g which had been caught in 2000.we also caught plenty of bream in the 1 kg range with one absolute stonker going 1.735Kg on the ferry scales narrowly missing the winning bream of 1.765.
so it was a good way to finnish after the comp, pitty we couldnt find those fish while the comp was on but hey thats fishing. still we managed plenty of daily prizes.
will post some photo's of the big bream and whiting this arvo.
Cheers Drew
