sp session (5/8/06) redcliffe/pine river

me and amanda got up early and heading to MrWong's house,on arrival i saw his sexy 5.3 polycraft sitting in the driveway,instantly getting excited about going for a sp session in it,he welcomed us in to say hello to his partner (marion) as he drunk his morning cuppa,with the cuppa empty we proceeded to recliffe and launched his boat and headed to the shallow reefs around woody point,we flicked our plastics around for a good 20 minutes before MrWong says "im on"
and to the boat came a small squire probably around the 30 cm mark,with him back in the water we kept flicking and about 20 mins later he was on again this time a much smaller squire maybe around the 20cm mark,around 10 minutes later amanda hooks up to something as she got it to the boat she thought "dam its a ray" but it was actually a nice sole/flounder,the wind then had picked up alot and conditions were far from good,so we decided to head up the pine river out of the wind for some flatties,we stopped off quickly at deep water bend pontoon as MrWong was busting for a leak,then proceeded up towards the pine river bridge,amanda flicks in her sp and jigs it twice when "bang" she was on,she winds it up and there was a decent size flattie on the end,in the excitement she rips it out of the water and into the boat (no net needed) lol,it was her new pb flattie going 50cm so she was stoked,we drifted around in the pine for another good 30-40 mins and amanda hooks up again,this time only a small flattie around 35cm so back in the drink he went,we then drifted around various spots in the pine for a few hours but couldnt manage any more fish.

"me only catching 2 pike for the day lol"

anyway MrWong your a bloody top bloke mate and we cant wait for another trip out with you

well done not a bad session (although you were outfished by a girl) . Sounds like a similar spot that ive bin fishing lately with similar sized flatties, got 2 of em for an hours fishing the other day aswell just off the bank. pity about the wind...nice fish tho.

Thats the problem with fishing with girls.. you always get outfished It makes it hard to pretend that catching fish is this "big mans business" ... In the end though its pays to make sure they're happy - If the women are happy - then they'll let you be... if not... So I make a point of "letting" my wife outfish me everytime.... makes for a happy homelife

i didnt even bother with the forecast,besides after a week of early shifts i slept from 7pm fri to 7am sat and by then the wind was up.
geez id hate to see kaimen and amanda fishing together, they get all the fish.

WHACKKKKKK!!!! My wife just read what i wrote and clipped me one with a reminder that she outfished me convincingly last time i took her out (5 months pregnant and all)!!

Must have been hard work in the wind we had on the weekend and ,,,,,,,,,,,, Oh, by the way could you see your way clear to stop fishing at Dan88's flathead spot, you're making it harder for me to pilfer the area when he's not there! Good plan on letting your wife outfish you, yes excellent work, before long she'll be addicted and she'll be the one dragging you out of bed and pushing you towards the boat, yeees excellent.

Well done amanda. Sounds like a good days fishing. When I take my wife out she always out fishes me, but at least I get to see her smile when she catches a fish.

T be very careful mate or your wife is going to put the curse back on you, Not your boat so she can catch more fish when she goes out with you again.

KEL, wouldn't worry about coming out in the near future, she is about to have a baby so that will be the end of her fishing adventures for a while (unless i buy the big luxurious fishing vessel she described last night). Only problem with that is that it would be too big to leave any main shipping channel! Told her she'd better get a good job for that one (or have lots of smart kids who'll earn lot's of big dollars and shout mummy and daddy a BIG boat)....

What plakkys were trying with for the Squire? I've just bought some great new plakkys in S.Afr and can't wait to give them a crack. Wait till the squire and Jews see these ones.

Hey T, just remember us poor ppl when the kids are grown and have bought you that big boat. A weekend out on the water with a comfy bed would be nice one in a while. We have been seriously thinking about selling the house and buying a cruiser to live on. Being only the 2 of us and the cats it wouldnt be a bad life.
