The Pin fishing well 11/8/06
Finnaly my rdo came around after 2 long weeks and I was keen to hit the Pin after seeing many good reports
The plan was to hit some steep banks for bream first up and as the tide rose move to my fave shallow flats spot for some big flatties.
First cast and it was only just light enough to see the small plastic splash down 1m or so from the steep bank, I let it sink for a few seconds and then slowly lifted the rod and found it loaded up and landed a good bream.
Good start and I was keen to get back in there and after a few casts got into good fish and then another.
It was amazing, the bream were fighting each other to get on my hook. I would have to say it was the best bream session ive ever had.
But after a few hours the bite had stopped and I moved onto the flats where I managed a few flatties.
I must have caught at least 25 bream keeping 12 and letting the rest go. The bream ranged between 25 - 35cm and the the biggest flatty went 63cm.
I gave a bunch of fish to the mother-in-law, so i'll be in the good books for ages, the air seems some how fresher knowing she will give me immunity for a bit. And my fish went straight on the bbq for a fish feast with few mates, followed by many drinks.
Great day on the water one i'll never forget, can't wait for my next RDO!!!
