Thanks for the report Craig.... maybe headed that way tonight - see how we go. Good on you for getting a feed!!
Adam
Rando and I went out to Mud yesterday afternoon, and we were the only boat there.
Seemed really odd because the weather was not too bad. A bit windy, but seas were not bad. And got better as the afternoon turned to dusk. Not that I was complaining about having the fishing to ourselves.
We were on the east side. Was flat on the west side.
I think that no boat trafic makes a big difference at times out there. Ended up with 10 squire and a handfull of tailor, so quite a good 4 hour session. Funny though, because at the time it seemed to be hard work getting them. Probably because there was not that many undersize, so it seemed ages between fish.
Another reason for a few slow periods we think was the bait. For the first time ever Morgans let us down as the mullet was pretty average. Most fish caught on either squid or just caught tailor fillets. Even the squid was not ideal as they did not have medium so had to use 3 or 4 small squid on each hook. I found that medium has been hard to get lately. Even Fish Factory were out of them on the weekend.
Nothing was of any size with the biggest at about 46cm, so did not bother with a photo.
Thanks for the trip Rob.

Was only a quick trip, so had to make do with just 3kg plus a couple of tailor.
Am on a different PC now, and the last time I had to load a photo ( was that grainy one about a month ago ), It took me an hour to resize it. Don't know what was going wrong, but was a real pain, so unless there was something interesting,,,,,
Sorry Chong, not enough to freight up to you. But if I get on to a big cobia tommorow I will see what I can do. Heading offshore at midday tomorrow for an overnighter at the banks. What can I say, I am just a fish pig.
Let us know how you went Adam. Should have been a good night for it.
