    Peel Island Trip 4th August

We headed out this morning to peel, despite the 15/20 KT winds predicted by BOM.
(looks like buoyweather.com was right again). Nice day 10 kt winds only hardly any swelling

Fished with just plastics a mix of zooms/berkley gulps/squidgies all around the island was a bit quiet today.

Total catch: 6 pinkies all undersized largest one 33cm, Tailor 40cm, mackeral 50cm, heaps of pike (by the hundreds).

All in all a great day, no too many boats around today at all. Better then working!!!

I wonder where the boys have been catching those elusive 80cm+ REDS?????

    Cheers,
    Huey

beats me Huey. it seems like you have to travel out to the banks to be assured of a good sized #RED these days! There is a plague of small squire around the bay islands at the moment. I fished NE of Mud yesterday with 2 mates and we caught much the same - lots of small damn squire, but nothing over 32cm #
