All the pvc for the sounder cost me about $30, velcro ties $5, and some screws $2. The bit of ally it sits on I aready had in the shed. The sounder only cost me $100 from someone on this website. So all up it cost me less than $140 to set up. I already had the battery. Oh and the charger cost about $25 from Dick Smiths.

The espri has handled itself beautifully and I have had it out off Cleveland point with rather large boats flying past me throwing out some large wakes. It is quite content just going up and down over the waves. I have a big trip coming up this weekend and will post on AKFF on Tuesday and let you know how it goes paddling long distances and through the surf.
