I've always thought T stood for Too much time on his hands, of course I might just be jealous of all the time he gets on the water.
Met up with T (stands for terrorist I reckon ) at the Wello boat ramp at 4am, as he had offered to take me out since my boat is out of the water. What a great offer, and one that this site is renowned for
We knew the tides werent great, but the forecast was too good (probably too good) to ignore.
Drifted around the beacon where T caught a nice squire going to roughly 40cm, and I had a few undersized, and we thought we were in for a decent morning....well so we thought. We drifted Wello, we drifted Green, we drifted Wello again....all for one more keeper of around 38 to yuors truly, and that was it. Plenty of undersize fish kept us amused.
The water was crystal clear, we could see the bottom easily in 3.5/4 metres.
Was great to meet T and I am sure it is the first of many trips we will have together. Thanks for the day out mate He laid it on for me, hot coffee in the thermos, muffin bars for breaky, and a prayer at sun up. Was a beautiful morning to be on the water, and catching some fish was the bonus
By the looks of the reports, we should of headed to Mud!!!!

Well you didn't bag out but at least you caught fish.
...and I bet that you are feeling a whole lot better for being there.
Goodonyer mate. Well done!
the fish didnt play the game for us either but it sounds like you had a good day anyway.

Bad luck beefaman, T1 is running red hot at the moment
But just goes to show you can't always slay them every trip, I am sure you will get them next trip

It's amazing you guys were there, but I don't know who to look for, what boat etc. I would have said gidday had I have known. I started at wello, but went to Mud once the Sun was up. There were a few under size at the SW corner, and when I turned the sensitivity down on the sounder, you could rely on a hit when the sounder showed fish. I caught a 43 and 37cm at the NW corner - but not real worthy of a post on its own.
It was as you say. Very clear water to 4mtrs. We need rain to silt it up a bit!
Beautiful day out though!

Yes, who was to know BEEFA! We could have gone to Mud while they were bagging out at Wello but there has been a serious pattern over the past week hasn't there! #Very little at Wello but Mud has been producing the goods! #I wonder if one's producing, the other isn't?
Anyway, it was a top morning and i'm more than certain that there will be many future trips to come! #Look forward to them! Watch out TINN, some keen fisho's out there to take your place in times of 'torn heartlidge'! #
SHAYNED - Mate, just enjoying the amount of free time i have at the moment however its all about to change from 1 Sept! I might actually have to work a few full days a week !
G/WHITE - Pete, the 'red hot' period appears to be over my friend - 3 successive trips for a 37cm and 40cm Squire... #Still, i've learnt a bit more though in those trips and the 'hot' period was fantastic while it lasted! #Will have to start giving Mud a flick once little one arrives (hopefully in the next few days)...
SCALEM - Brian, was talking to a bloke at the ramp that reckoned a good mate of his had been getting 70cm + specimens in the shallows at Wello ie 2-3m. #Not sure how true but he claims the bloke is a man of integrity... hmmm maybe, maybe not but certainly the water is crystal at the moment.
Take Care T
Oh, and Hey to ADAMY who seemed to 'shadow' us today - obviously didn't get many tips ole mate but it was great to see you out there with the young fella!
How did your coffee with Premier PB go ?
Hey T... thats the subject of my next essay... stay tuned - gimme about a half hour I reckon At least I have a photo for my report - thats the benefit of having a kid aboard... the fish look bigger in the pic
Bad luck Fellas, I will see how i go with tomorrows afternoon tide around Wello.
More run so i hope more fun.
Yep we sure need some rain to cloudy up the shallows.
Some say DROUGHT ON THE LAND DROUGHT IN THE SEA !!
Cheers Brent
Be interesting to see how you go Brent.
At least being so clear, we could make sure the sounder was reading the bottom correctly
