The Sunday Pine
I hit the Pine before sunrise this morning on the last of the run out and landed a flattie (46cm), a bream (25cm) and a couple of pike (26cm and 30cm). I love catching flathead, especially watching them swim in the shallow water before sliding them onto the sand, but have to say, those pike are a bit of fun too. They both hit pretty hard and one of them leapt up out of the water. I lost another one when it bit through the line. Had a couple of crab take the bait and come surfing in but they let go when they got too close.
Birds everywhere this morning too, including a pelican which followed me around from sunrise.
