    Beach Caught Spaniard

In my post 'Fraser Fun' I mentioned some guys that I camped with at Browns Rocks and how they kindly called in at Teewah to let me know that the fish came in the day I left up there and of a spaniard that Bryan had caught. Well Bryan has emailed the photos to me and a fish of this nature off the beach deserves its own post. I am jealous and envious and wishing like hell that I'd hung around for a few days more, but Bryan that is a great effort and I am absolutely delighted for you. And .. er.. the fact that you caught it on a Slider!!!!!!

It's a shame that Golly dropped his spaniard but somehow I'm thinking that might be a good thing - you guys would be hearing altered versions of the story on Fraser trips for the next 20 years. Bad luck Pete - you'll just have to get back up there again next year.

The guys did all get amongst the tailor though and Bryan has also included a photo of 1 sessions worth which I'll put up as well.

Hopefully Griffo will register on this site and give us a blow by blow account of the battle with the great beast at some stage.

Terrific stuff mate and when next years trip comes around then I'm in. Well that is if you'll let me after the suggestion was made that I was keeping the fish away.
And thanks for letting us all share in what must have been a fantastic moment when the spaniard was safely beached.

Looks hot in those waders and must have been fun chasing the spaniard around in them.

Scott, do you think somebody would pay me to do the roving reporter thing - drive around all week with a video camera looking for fish.. I mean fisherpeople with fish?

[smiley=laola.gif] Anyone who can drag a spaniard in from the surf deserves the big crowd wave. Absolutely unreal. Top effort. [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Awesome, That is a great effort to get a spaniard in the surf.

Any idea on how long it took to land Lindsay?

Don't know how long Bryan took to land it Crumbo and I don't even know what size Slider had the spaniard sliding up the beach. Hopefully Bryan will find time after cleaning down a couple of 4wds and a mountain of camping gear to fill us in on those details.
Yes Adamy, the slide did provide again.
