Hey Franco, dont worry about the braid tangles, I'll have sharp scissors, better keep that mop you call hair out of the way tho!
Flick Flack might catch more fish than us but we will have the most fun I'm sure.
I've gotta agree about the pre fish days before the comp, not a good idea, the fish might be resilient but they do need to feed freely too!
We all know you can catch them over & over, however it doesnt make it right.
Cheers Franco, look forward to that fish together soon!

thanks for the spot Franco- that spindly bush is quite a good one for bream too.
As for prefishing-I think it is really important to hammer all the popular spots the few days before (stupid, but is what invariably happens) and then never go there! Its worked for us the last few years, lets the team 'gel', gets the karma right and means you can start confidently elsewhere in the knowledge you've probably educated a few fish not to bite Dougie Burts lure in coming days.
How many boats can you fit on the cut through at Kalinga? About 50 last year I reckon on day 2 of the Classic- that's about 1 fish per boat.
Caught quite a few yesterday and the day before- 67 in total. Size down a bit overall- about 25 under 40cm, 2x 80cm (one on a livebait on a renosky!) and 4 others over 60. Water pretty crap in most places, best bites top and very bottom of tide. One major fish flurry Saturday- but Sebastian really has issues with this jigging stuff- only one rat despite a lot of encouragement from us.
He needs a new coach- you try and teach nim. I think we damaged his karma.

Yeah it was tough fishing yesterday hey.

Don't worry Greenie that flatty was relocated!

...and speaking of bream: I can't believe you've turned to "The Dark Side" and joined forces with Kelvin (the Evil Bream Emperor Sith from the planet Labrador) after losing your other Jedi knight. This can only be a path to evil and the dark side! I fear your days as the Flathead Jedi Master are near an end!! It is your Destiny!

Had to get out there and redeem myself on sunday but what terrible friggin weather it was bloody freezing. I hope we don't have to use the gortex gear in the comp!! Times were tough but scored a few good-uns. I resorted to old skool lures too .... having faith in the Renosky 4" in green to pull this 72 model.

...... but to resort to live a tailor backed onto a renosky is a bloody desperate way to give your lure action mate! Don't know if that'll work in the classic!!
PS Sebastian is teachable ...... just keep gettin him to buy stuff at Doug's!

Never thought I'd see the day of you talking about bream in a good way greenie. Although it doesn't appear to have affected your flatty fishing too much so it's all good. Looking forward to plenty of fish and beers at the classic this year. Maybe the weather gods got told the classic was on this week cause the weather is looking very familiar. See you down there. At least we will be able to have a chat after the days fishing this year , I have sort off organized a stand in for me at the shop. Looks like we will have to find some plakkies that look just like a live tailor to keep up with Greenie this year . Brad recons if we have a good feed of RIBS every morning followed by a few beers on the way back the flathead should find their own way into the boat. Looking forward to the comp this year at least I will know the names of some of the places we fish. The scary part about Kelvin Fishing is that Fllathead are attracted to his bream gear like flies. We must just convince him to stick to the 4lb leader
By the way the boat looks awesome . Catch up on the water soon.

    Cheers Rod
