Re: Pleased to meet you- New member

Welcome Muddy Toes. I haven't fished the Logan for years, is it still productive? I know someone at Sunnybank who has asked for tips on it and I've just said try the sandbars between Carbrook and the mouth, and the further downriver you go, the better. I doubt I'd eat anything from around the Albert, the water quality gets pretty poor up there.

    Any advice to pass on?

    Welcome muddy toes,

We've quite a few husband and wife teams joining now and it's good to see. The Logan is 5 -10 mins down the road from me, but usually flogg it to death when the prawns are migrating in March/April, otherwise Snapper in the bay is too strong a magnet.

Hope you enjoy our company, don't be afraid to ask anything, and get yourself Ausfish stickers for your boat so we can say hello when out there.

Welcome to both of you and hope you enjoy the laughs you pick up on this site!!

As silly as this may sound, i still have to ask... Are you both husband & wife or similiar, or father and son, or just 2 buddies?

It's just you don't get too many women who refer to themselves as 'wenches'...

Yes, last time I checked we were definitely a Mr and Ms Muddy Toes, T1!!
    - not married though.

Been told multiple times he's the captain and I should know my place (on the boat at least- but why is my place catching more fish than him then?? he he ) so thought wench would describe our on water relationship pretty well.

Only had the boat for 6 months and already got me pulling anchor, pumping yabbies, and gutting / filleting fish!! The beer bit is pretty self-explanatory, isn't it?? - just jokes, he's a very fair skipper (when he's got the no. 1 fish in the esky )

As for the secret spots...... well go to the logan (muddy toes) ramp, turn right, go 1km, turn right again, under the bridge, do a 360deg turn- clockwise only, and then you know that big tree on the left hand bank......well that's not it. Probably wouldn't eat anything from there either, Chrisfish!!

We find the Logan fine for our purposes which is to get out on the water once a week, wet a line and usually come home with a decent feed. If nothing doing in river, can always head out and try powerlines??? It's nice and close to home for us so is perfect. Never come home empty handed so far but do need to be prepared to try everywhere in there.

In summer thinking about heading to Wello or similar to see if we can up the ante somewhat

Thanks for all your positive introductions. Sounds like this will be fun

    Later,

Mr and Mrs Muddy Toes (quite like the sound of that!!)

Welcome Mr & Mrs Muddy toes!

Going on reports from married members on this site - the couples seem to do quite well on the water!

Maybe my tactics are all wrong! Perhaps I should forget about techniques and tackle etc... and just get married!

    Any takers ?

    Mr and Mrs Muddy Toes!

    Welcome to Ausfish!

It is addictive and you can spend alot of time on here! Warning - The housework may end up suffering!

Another wife and husband team here and at the moment the tally is Herm - 2 Great White - Nil
But he is trying so hard to catch up!

When you are coming up to Wello - let us know - we are just around the corner! and hopefully we might know where to go by then! GW is reading over my sholder as I type and commented that he thought this last comment is a bit ambitious!

    Cheers
    Janine
