Grinners are the vermin of the bay.
My policy is that they do not return to the water alive.
I'd rather give any other species a head start by removing all the grinners I can from the competition.
I've used them as crab bait and they were no better no worse than anything else.
I havent tried to eat em but givent he bones in the buggers I dont think Id bother trying

Had a fellow knock at my front door here at Teewah not long ago selling me a religeon, which was time wastage for both of us - but he was saying how disappointed he was that the mackerel were coming back and the grinner population being reduced as a result.

I personally wouldn't go as far as to say that publically moondancer but I do know a guy that trolls grinners on his downrigger for spaniards with good success.

There does seem to be a distinct decline in grinner numbers over the last 2 - 3 years which is probably as a result of increased mackerel numbers. Thank God for that, is all I can say moondancer.
