Cant help but agree with you there.....
grinners I catch never see water again
I have heard that they can make good bait but I have never tried as I usually forget the stupid things are in the bucket til I get back to the ramp or Home and then I hate them all over again.

Eating grinners is apparently worse than eating a wet sock with bones. I doubt I will ever give them a go but if you want to try them feel free to and then let me know if it is a thumbs up or down for them.

jez & suze, the way things are going with me I would be happy getting some grinners

I have caught a few of late so I know what you mean, good for bait , cat food, and burley I think that's about. But is you get enough of them we may be able to broker a deal with the Mc D's to use in their fillet of fish

When last at Rainbow Beach we heard they were good for live bait. So we gave it a go. Rod tip bent right over Woohoo were on...... to an ever bigger grinner. Gave up and went home after that.

The captain has the honour of being "Grinner King" after only a few outings to the bay. Creepy looking little buggers!! Kim.

i read in a book, i think its the Wild Guide to Moreton Bay that grinners are considered a delicasy in India.

    However, I may stand corrected.

    G'day
Hahaha nice work on the indian delacasy It's also supposed to be an aphrodisiac in asia.
Grinners do have a good taste to them, albeit full of bones. Would make good fish cakes.
I perfer to keep better quality fish though, but they are supposed to be a gun mackeral and snapper bait.

Try slabbing them up for reef bait, you may be pleasantly surprised.

with the size of some of the grinners i have caught off the gold coast i wish you could eat them. I'm much the same as many others, a quick smack on the head and off to the birds they go
