Like the others said,,,, great fish. I thought I recognised Steven's boat. You were a bit more north that I expected. I did 3 or 4 drifts with plastics before heading east side to drown baits. Now I know where I need to start my drifts [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Am about to fillet mine (couldn't be bothered doing them last night) and was going to take a couple of pics, but my biggest were only 55 and 61, so look like tiddlers compared to yours.
Interesting that my biggest mud island snapper also came in the middle of the day when there was hardly any run.
Good work Jonesea!!
I was beginning to wonder whether you were just taking me out to the "no fish spots"!! Would much rather have been watching you tangle with a big knobhead like that (I tackled a few at Riverfire- with pram!! > > > ) than watch the pretty fireworks. Kids loved it though and nearly droppped their icy poles for th dump and burn!!
I guess Father Day is set for you!
Bloody good work matey, see you tomorrow at work!

You bettered my PB by 1 cm!!! Good on you!! [smiley=2thumbsup.gif] Steven has a new Avitar photo I see, I told you that you love only one other thing more than your boat, but I think your wife will object to her photo being on Ausfish. The bigger fish seem to be on their way, I will have to try increase my PB just to keep up with you guys! Do you think a 100cm is possible??
Can't wait to try again!! Need to clear the next few weekends of house maintenance and weddings. Why can't life just go on hold while fishing is so good??? [smiley=bigcry.gif]
Congratulations HSVJones thats one impressive looking bay snapper.
They sure go for the gulps.
You did well to land it on very light gear.
Cheers Brent
Congratulations Awesome fish. Myself and Craig had the pleasure of watching the fight. We were about a hundred metres away and we could clearly hear two things - your drag going off and you going off!!! You played the fish like a champion and the skipper did an equally impressive job with the net. Craig and I were following a similar drift pattern with the plastics and got blown away by some big fish. I think the score ended up Mud Isl Snapper 6 Craig & Nathan 2. Good to see that Mud can still produce some quality fish as evidenced by your capture and Steven's recent monster.
We had an awesome arvo and seeing you catch that fish just topped it off.
