Mud Island. I'm excited!

Hello,

Headed out to Mud this afternoon with Jim (Seaduction) for a flick
with the plastics. Armed with my new “early” fathers day present hopes where
high for a decent fish to break her in.

Got out to spot X around 2:30 and from there a few fish came aboard around the 40cm
mark.

It was about 4:00pm on the clock when the reel started to scream off line, and the chase
was on and the boat in full reverse. After a few heart stopping moments and some outstanding netting by Jim a new PB was on board going 84cm on the lie detector.
To say I was a little excited was an understatement, with high fives and the rest of Mud
hearing the cheers.

The fish weighed in at a bit over 6.5kg, (Thanks to Steven78 for the loan of the scales.)

Ended up with a total of 6 fish for the afternoon, the others all around the 40 mark. Jim
also lost another big one to the bottom after a long chase.

The damage was done with 8lbs fireline and 10lbs leader with 4 inch pumpkin seed
Turtleback worms by far the best performers this afternoon.

Thanks for the comments guys and thanks Jim for posting pictures. Just wanted to add that this fishing session was after 2.30pm today and not when the rally was on. Caught this dream fish in 10 metres of water.

Same here HSVjones I could not get there as the wife had a doctors appointment and i had to attend as well all is ok and I could not get the car until 12:30pm.
