    Parreara Channel- Friday arvo

    G'day,
fished the channel with nuggstar this afternoon. Caught a couple of smallish flathead at the bridge before we moved to the lock toward the other end of the channel. This produced a few more flathead and plenty of hits. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get any live abit, but will hopefully have some for the next trip. Plenty of baitfish swimming round at the lock, it will hopefully be a good proposition on another night when the broncos aren't playing

Seems like a good place to go a flick a plastic around - what type of SP were you using if you don't mind me asking.

    Thanks

I got most of my flathead on a 4 inch atomic flickbait, it's white with a bit of silver and black and smells like it's got more garlic than an Italian kitchen. I also got one on a little green powerbait 3 inch and nuggstar got a few on a little squidgie, not sure what sort. I'm thinking of trying the lock area again Sunday arvo if anyone's interested, but this time I'll take a bait jig with me and hopefully get some of the baitfish swimming around.

Tried again today, after no luck early with the bait jig I tossed the plastics around for a bit. Managed a baby flathead and even a nice little bream. Tried the bait jig again later, got a few herring and put one out, but to no avail. Ended up leaving early because the wind was making fishing quite uncomfortable.
