i hate spring- tweed river
howdy ausfishers
been waiting ages for the opportunity to get out in my tinnie but the constant spring time northerlies have been holding me back. thought today was best chance of getting out.
headed to tweed early with the hope of landing some big flatties, as soon as i got down to the ramp the southerly started blowning hard (cant seem to escape wind at this time of year) headed out anyway.
got up to the walls to see if i could get some fish before i went to a flatty spot. found a school of trevally which were mostly smaller ones about 40cm. used my 1lb fireline with them, made it a heap of fun, caught 8 before the school moved off.
tried to find them agian on the sounder and accidently motored through the area were some guy was fishing. he wasnt too impressed either. (if your out there, sorry )
moved on to try and get some flatties, went to rig up, arrrrr. i left all my big plastics and jig heads in the garage i gave it a shot with small ones but it was a waste of time.
so i went home
trevally (they were nearly the exact same size)

I hear you..
Or usual drifts havent worked well with the winds, its been a pain. We drifted for 4 hours last week and didnt even land a flatty.
Nice to get on the trevs though.. Do they get bigger down deeper you think?
